Friday, 6-13-08, Aimos’ house, Sacramento, CA
We left at 6:20 today. It was a calm, beautiful day with flat roads ahead. It would be the flattest ride until eastern Colorado. We made good time and before long we were in Davis where we stopped and splurged at a Subway. It was nice to stop. The ride began warming up as we approached noon. Fortunately, we were making good time, and at 2:15 pm we arrived at my sister Cathy’s house. Her friend Luanne was there and treated us to a delicious Chinese buffet. We probably ate three times our money’s worth. It was nice to be at Cathy’s house. It was relaxing and sort of a milestone. After a few days rest with Cathy, the difficult part will start, slowly climbing the Sierras, then down into Carson City, over to Fallon, and then through the desolate assents and descents across the Rockies. 69 miles.
